Garrett Gooch Hall was built in 1922 and named after Garrett Gideon Gooch, Jr., a native of Staunton, Virginia, who served as Vice President of Stone Printing and Manufacturing Company in Roanoke, Virginia. Mr. Gooch died January 28, 1920 at age 42.
