When Raymond P. Barnes first printed "A History of the City of Roanoke," no index was part of the work. In 1983, Betty B. Low, "with the assistance of volunteers from the society," compiled this index of 115 pages as a separate edition and addendum to the original history. Bounded in soft-covers with an introduction, it is an invaluable tool for usage.
