A letter to Mrs. John M. Chaney (among others) from Arthur T. Ellett, Chairman of the Planning Committee for Cherry Hill. The content of the letter is a reminder of a meeting to be held in the office of John Thornton at 105 Franklin Road SW on July 21, 1966. (Mr. Ellett was employed with the Roanoke Gas Company for 34 years where he retired as vice-president and general manager in 1974.)

Notations on the front of the envelope provide this information as well as the word "Buckner's". The reference is to Mary Buckner and Elizabeth Buckner who attended the college and participated in the May Day festivities during this era. Mary Buckner resided at 503 King George Avenue directly across the street from the home of Philip H. Trout, the amateur photographer who took the photographs, and Elizabeth Buckner lived nearby on Franklin Road. The envelope carries the following preprinted address: Roanoke Photo Finishi
