Title Clearing for Incline Railway
Description A photographic postcard of the area from the base of Mill Mountain where the future Incline railway was to be built. Timber clearing has begun. The photograph was made in April 1910. According to Raymond Barnes, in his "History of the City of Roanoke", C. Markley was given the contract for grading the road bed and to lay two sets of iron rails furnished by the Roanoke Iron Company.
