Scope & Content |
A print of a 2004 painting by Neal B. Long of Roanoke's Victory Stadium, painted at the request of his grandson, Zach Setchel. (see the Roanoke Times article from January 12, 2007 at http://www.roanoke.com/neighbors/wb/wb/xp-99691) Before the city demolished the old, flood-prone -- and beloved -- Victory Stadium in July 2006, 13-year-old Zach Setchel wanted something to remember it by. Two Christmases ago, his grandfather, Neal Long, granted his wish: He painted the boy a picture of the stadium, in all its former glory. Long said he had taken photos of the stadium and counted 120 individual lights so he could accurately reproduce it. |
