Two photographs of the receiving line in the pergola at "Cocke-Spur", the Orchard Hill residence of Mr. Lucian Hayward Cocke and Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke, his wife, during the May 4, 1914 reception for Vice President, and Mrs.Thomas R. Marshall. Vice President and Mrs. Marshall can be seen in the receiving line and Whitwell W. Coxe, wearing a bow tie and carrying a boater hat, can be seen in the right foreground. These photographs appear on page 16 of a scrapbook titled "Cocke-Spur" formerly owned by Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke. |
