Letter from Emma Breckinridge dated February 8, 1841 to her sister Lucy at Leigh near Hardins Tavern, Albemarle, Virginia and postmarked Fincastle, Virginia on February 4, 1841, telling of family news and discussing the possibilities of her three unwed brothers finding suitable wives in the near future. News of her visits with neighbors and announcing that Mr. B intends to build a front porch on their home Catawba in the spring. Tells of her children and their education and health, sends her love to the kin folks in Albemarle County. |
