Two photographs of the east side of the front lawn at "Cocke-Spur", the Orchard Hill residence of Mr. Lucian Hayward Cocke and Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke, his wife, during the May 4, 1914 reception for Vice President, and Mrs.Thomas R. Marshall. The lady holding the umbrella or parasol in the left view is Belinda Spindle. In the right view the gentleman holding his hat and facing the camera is Estes Cocke and the other gentleman facing the camera is C.S. Churchill. These photographs appear on page 20 of a scrapbook titled "Cocke-Spur" formerly owned by Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke. |
