A commemorative menu celebrating seventy-five years of Hotel Roanoke's service to the community. On the front flap is a short description of the hotel's history beginning in 1882. On the second inside flap there are twenty-four photographs of management and department heads whose combined service to the hotel totalled three hundred eighty years. The menu includes sandwiches, cold specialties, chafing dish specialties, casserole specials, cocktails and relishes, steaks, seafood, eggs, poultry, salads, vegetables, cheese, desserts and beverages. On the center back page of the menu there is a copy of part of the 1883 census of the town of Roanoke, listing employees of Hotel Roanoke, with two photographs of the hotel, one taken in 1882, and the other taken in 1957. |
