Dates of Creation |
April 5, 1835 |
Scope & Content |
Letter headed Leigh, Hardins Tavern, Virginia, from Peachy R. Gilmer to Cary Breckinridge and from Mary Gilmer to Emma Breckinridge, Catawba, Botetourt Co. Dated 1835 by context, but could be 1834, since much of the news concerns Lucy and Ann at school in Charlottesville (see #170 et seq.) Mentions hopes of visiting the Springs, and the Breckinridges, and hunting in the fall. Also noted that all their garden plants had been killed by a late frost in early May. |
