Stamp which contains the bust of George Washington on a red background. The left facing bust sits in a white oval, 'United States Postal' running above the bust. In lower left and right corners of the stamp, encircled by white ovals, are large '2,' with plumes of feathers or leaves emanating from the sides of ovals and linked to the marquee at the top. A small border runs around three of the four edges, the corners meeting with small squares with a cirlce in the center. Stamp was adhered to the right corner of a blue envelope, which has then been torn from the rest of the envelope. Black wavy lines of postmark are visible, spaced evenly apart across the entirety of the stamp. Stamp was tucked inside 2010.40.0250. |
