Alice Gidding October letter |
Dates of Creation |
October 18, 1892 |
Scope & Content |
Alice Gidding writes Bernard that she owes him an apology as she has heard from her sister (Mrs. Weedon) in Washington, D.C., that she did not have the photograph that she (Alice) thought she had (a photo of Bernard and Confederates). Alice then wrote to Mr. West's daughters to see if Bernard had given her father one of the photos, but wrote back she did not. For this Alice is truly sorry as she knows how much Bernard would like to have one to see himself as he was in the war days. She thanks Bernard for sending the papers. Her brother-in-law, Mr. Blake, is in Baltimore attending the general convention, and wishes Bernard could meet him. Mr. Blake enjoys attending the church conventions as he meets so many bishops and clergy, and since this is the tribunal convention he should meet a great many. The weather is delightful but there must be blizzards in the west. She hopes her letter finds Bernard and his family well. She and her sister (Mrs. Blake) wish kind regards. |
