Letter headed "Catawba May 26th 1842" from Emma Breckinridge to her husband Cary Breckinridge, Esq, at Leesburg, Virginia and forwarded back to Fincastle on June 8, 1842. An interesting letter detailing what is happening at home while Cary is traveling with their son James, tells of planting and replanting tobacco, corn, picking strawberries, field work, laying floors in the mill, some problems on the farm and some family news. |
