Photograph of an open air Maxwell police car in front of "Cocke-Spur", the Orchard Hill residence of Mr. Lucian Hayward Cocke and Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke, his wife, during the May 4, 1914 reception for Vice President, and Mrs.Thomas R. Marshall. The gentleman in the back seat is most probably E. R. Moore, the City of Roanoke chief of police at the time. This photograph appears on page 14 of a scrapbook titled "Cocke-Spur" formerly owned by Sarah Johnson Hagan Cocke. |
