The will of Peachy R. Gilmer, dated January 31, 1835, with a short codicil added the next day. He appoints his wife Mary, and son-in-law, Cary Breckinridge, as executors and trustees; leaves Mary a life-estate, names his five sons (William, George, Harmer, Francis, and John) and three daughters (Emma, Lucy Walker, and Mary Peachy) as heirs. Bequeaths slaves to each child, many by name. Arranges for guardianship by trustees of three minor children: John, Lucy, and Mary Peachy. Peachy R. Gilmer died on April 8, 1835. |
