Leatherbound program for the Golden Jubilee Banquet held on January 31, 1934, celebrating fifty years of Roanoke's existence, 1884-1934. The banquet was held at Hotel Roanoke, with dinner, a toast by Junius Fishburn, and extemporaneous talks by Roanoke's pioneering citizens. The banquet honored Roanoke's pioneering citizens The program is bound with a gold string, and on the inside contains a print of the "Dog Mouth Fountain" with the following statement: He who drinks at "The Dog Mouth" fountain, though he leave Roanoke, will always return. |
