Scope & Content |
Letter headed Charlottesville, April 27th, 1894 from Rosalie Rives to Eliza Breckinridge for sending a "pretty souvenir of the Shakespeare [Club] lunch" and wished for a more detailed sharing of all the events that occurred, most of this letter is a social conversation, hard to read because of the writing style, Rosalie reports on relatives who are travelling, some who are ill, and one who is losing her memory. Rosalie had gone from Charlestown to Washington to see an eye doctor who "sentenced her to eyeglasses," names Mrs. Pegram and a Gilmer whose first name is not legible, and tells of Betty Roberson having so many calls upon her time "she can no longer be a companion to such an idle loafer as I am." |
