Letter headed October 31st, [1861] from Julia A. Breckinridge to her sister in law Eliza Breckinridge telling of her baby [Nannie] fretting because she is teething now, of George arriving in Pattonsburg at 5 o'clock on the day he left Grove Hill and had an early start on the next day heading toward Albemarle County and ultimately Fairfax Court House, shared news about her husband Gilmer who is in camp near Fairfax Court House and is overworked, most of the balance of this letter has to do with domestic items:planned trip to Richmond, trying "sage tea" as a substitute for real tea and it made her sick, the Soldier's Aide Society has not taken any actions, has received a chair and baby bed from Grove Hill, and offers to help Eliza any time she can. |
