H. Haden of Botetourt was reported killed in the paper today, Andrew [slave?] has been making baskets of white oak splits and has made her a small one which she admires, she gave Gilmer a bottle of lime water for dyspepsia before he left and he should use occasionally, she did not subscribe to the [Richmond] Enquirer, "I thought perhaps I better not-these hard times, she has been reading a book describing "Good Wife", and thinks now maybe she should give up reading poetry and music and becoming the domestic wife described.
