Letter headed Jan 26th 1862 from John Breckinridge to his mother with news about being on "picket" duty for a while when it was raining, Brother Cary had come by to visit while he was gone, wants him to change to a cavalry outfit, tells that Cary is about to elected Captain of his company when Capt. Pitzer gets his promotion to Major, news that a spy from Washington brought news that McClellan "was having his guns cleaned out to make an attack on us at this place", about an election for the position of Lieutenant and Graybill was elected from the seven candidates, closes by sending his love to all. |
