Letter headed "Grove Hill August 17th [18]56" from Eliza Breckinridge to her mother, Emma Gilmer Breckinridge, telling of her safe return from a trip to see her sister Mary Breckinridge Woodville, of a broken piece of wood on the carriage on the trip home, but Cary, Jr. fixed it, about the things they did at the Springs while staying at Glencary, about Mary's small children, and others they met while visiting, about her plans to visit in the neighborhood around Grove Hill, how much she enjoyed the music at the Springs, and closes by saying that Lucy and Emma also want to write to their mother. |
