Newsletter for the History Museum & Historical Society. The front page of the newsletter announces several new exhibits - most prominently a loaned exhibit of 18th century items in the lobby, including a portrait of Sarah Rogers Parkman by Gilbert Stuart, a pair of wax portraits of Jonas Clark Minot and Hannah Speakman, as well as a 19th century card table, believed to have been from Boston. The newsletter also tells of three naval ships named 'Roanoke' that were made for a specific exhibit at the Historical Society, conservation underaken on the American Theatre murals on dipslay at the Jefferson Center, and the recent acquisition of a scale replica of the Tayloe Rogers home. |
