R. W. Jones writes and thanks Bernard for paying him the compliment of placing his picture in "War Talks of Confederate Veterans." Jones is sending a small picture taken in 1862 Petersburg, when the 12th Virginia Infantry came up from the evacuation of Norfolk. Mrs. Jones intends to enlarge it and desires its return. Jones has a cabinet size picture, taken in 1868 by J. R. Rockwell in Petersburg, in citizen's dress. If Bernard prefers that one he will send it immediately. Jones thinks the one he sent was a good picture at the time. He then thanks Bernard for sending a copy of his pamphlet. |
