Letter headed Monday night from Julia Anthony Breckinridge to her mother in law Emma Gilmer Breckinridge telling of a visit from her sister in law Emma and about the boxes of food and apparel that were shipped from Grove Hill to Julia at Buchanan, no mention of the baby so this letter was probably written in early 1861 at the baby arrived before May 1861. Gilmer is still working his law cases and has not joined the army. Some family news included , but no news of the impending Civil War. |
