Letter headed Aug 9th 1861 from Julia Breckinridge to her sister in law Eliza Breckinridge telling of receiving a letter from her husband Gilmer and he is waiting to get a new uniform made before he has his picture taken and sent to her, and she thinks he will not be returning home any time soon, mentions typhoid feveris going theough Buchanan again and Mrs. Henry is very sick with it, thanks for sending the baby new shoes, they fit perfectly, thanks her mother in law for having her dressre worked, mentions several visitors and asks the family to visit her soon. |
