Cover of the newspaper is titled "First in the Heart of Virginia," and includes a drawing on the entire top half of a man in a Charles II style outfit, much like the mascot of the University of Virginia (a cavalier). He blows a trumpet and stands in front of buildings and a train. At the left, a man turns a handle on a book press or printing press. The newspaper is dedicated, along with the Booster Club of Roanoke and Southwest Virginia, Inc., to the history of the area. It covers several counties in Southwest Virginia, and the cities of Bristol, Bluefield, Radford, and Roanoke. |
