Scope & Content |
This document is a copy of a court pleading in a real estate transaction that did not turn out as expected. Christian Vinyard claims he bought 88 acres of land. After a survey was performed 25 and 3/4 acres of the 88 acres was found to be owned by Andrew Lewis. There is also a dispute about the amount of bonded debt that has been paid on the 88 acre land purchase. The purchase was made through Randolph Richardson, attorney in fact for James Stokes, who claimed ownership of the 88 acres. Vinyard paid some money down and gave bond for the balance. The bond to Stokes was sold to John Phil Weaver, who is now trying to collect the balance, while Vinyard says he does not owe it as he did not get all the land he purchased. |
