3. Old Dominion Baseball Team - Black and white photograph of the Old Dominion Baseball Team. The typewritten caption below the image reads as follows: "Old Dominion Ball Team Roanoke City League". Handwritten notes on the reverse of the photograph identify the third person from the left in the back row as Lucian Cocke, fourth from the left as the team manager, John Trout, and the boy on the far right in the cap as Ahern or O'Hern. In the middle row, the player on the left is identified as Jim Bear and the player next to him as Crowley. The player on the right in the front row is identified as "Cub" Bear and the words Cub Bear are added to his left arm in the image. The player in the center of the front row is identified as Lemon with a question mark. The name "Ott Willis" has been written on the image next to the head of a player in the back row. According to Raymond Barnes' "A History of the City of Roanoke" each ward had a baseball team with the southwest section represented by The Old Dominion with players Charles and James Bear, and Lucian and C.F. Cocke.
