    A brief letter headed "Charlottesville Jan 20th 1842" to Miss Lucy W. Gilmer at Leigh. Peter Minor is responding to an invitation to visit at the Gilmer household and Lucy Gilmer is seeking a pattern for tight sleeves on a dress, but Peter Minor writes "I have long since forbidden her (his wife) to wear tight sleeves" and cannot furnish the requested pattern.
