  1. Centennial Cake - 1982

    A photocopy of a newspaper clipping about Hotel Roanoke's Centennial cake. The cake was more than 10 feet tall, constructed from three tiers of plywood. It had 100 electric candles representing the 100th birthday of the city of Roanoke and of the hotel. The cake was to go on the hotel's float in Roanoke's Centennial's parade, which was celebrated in 1982. Three hotel employees are shown putting finishing touches on the cake.
