3. Citizens Undertaking Establishment, Inc. - A black and white photograph of Roy W. Clark, manager of Citizens Undertaking Establishment, Inc., and first President of the Hunton Rescue Squad. We believe Mr. Clark is the man dressed in a suit, holding a cane, at the front of the car. This photograph was taken with his staff at Maher Field. The 1926 Roanoke City directory shows Citizens Undertaking Establishment located at 520 Commonwealth Avenue NE with Roy Clark as manager. Sometime around 1956, Edna P. Clark took over as president of the company. The last business entry found in the city directories was in 1964.

10. Intersection of Jefferson & Campbell looking west on Campbell - The photo shows the intersection of Jefferson Street and Campbell Ave looking west down Campbell. There are lots of streetcar tracks intersecting in the foreground of the photo with a traffic lamp hanging from wires that criss cross down the street. There are people waiting on the left side sidewalk and cars parked on both sides of the street. There are so many businesses lining both sides. This photo was probably part of the beautification project. The back of the photo says that the 1889 storefronts are visible on the north side of Campbell.

Construction on the plant, located between Daleville and Catawba, began in 1950. Now known as Roanoke Cement, it is the only active cement plant in Virginia and has an annual of 1.3 million tons. In 2009, the plant was Botetourt County's eleventh largest employer.
