1. 1930s beige linen dress set - A sleeveless A line dress (a) made of thick beige linen flecked with black. It crosses in front, has pleated detailing at the hips and a pleated flap that folders over the nape of the neck. It includes a separate matching piece (b) that is either worn as a cape or as an overskirt (unsure of which). It is open down the center front and back and has assymetrical bakelite buttons on top and pleated details on the side and back. In the accession regist it is noted as a 'Rena dress' from Paris.

2. 1950s pink taffeta bow gown - Bright pink silk taffeta gown with a column of bows down the length of the front, a sweetheart neckline, and short sleeves that are gathered into puffy bow shapes. The waistline is at the natural position and has pleats in front. The skirt is has a smooth A frame in front and is full in back gathered at the waist. A tag at the inside hem of skirt reads "Lucile Paray, made in France, Paris."

   Excerpt from an address given by Doctor John Herbert Claiborne to the A. P. Hill Camp of Confederate Veterans of Petersburg that appeared in a newspaper clipping with the focus given to the date May 22nd, 1865. Writer states he had made arrangements to join the Black Horse Cavalry the last week in May, but Joseph E. Johnson had surrendered, which changed the situation.
