2. Class J Locomotive - A black and white photograph of Norfolk & Western railroad workers and a locomotive. The locomotive is Class J, 4-4-0, No. 19. It was built by Baldwin in 1882 for dual service, TE - 11792; DW - 62"; Cyl. - 16 x 24"; WD - 39500#; WE & T - 73250#. This was the first of the N&W famous Class J steam locomotives, and shown at Roanoke Shops in 1882 shortly after receipt from Baldwin, with locomotive crew and a derby-hatted dignitary (probably a Master Mechanic) standing proudly beside the locomotive.

5. World War I Parade Float - A black and white photograph of a float in a World War I parade in Roanoke, Virginia circa 1916-1918. Durward Stanley is the child at left with cannon. The History Museum of Western Virginia owns the trousers (collections # 999.51). The float is traveling on Campbell Avenue SE in front of the Norfolk & Western shops.
