The property ran from the south side of Campbell Avenue to the north side of Kirk Avenue. and at one time, housed a small "Gothic" chapel at 123 Kirk Avenue. John M. Oakey established his undertaking establishment in Roanoke in 1882 and the firm was succeeded by John M. Oakey, Inc.
