2. Elmwood Park in Winter - c. 1920s

   Colored postcard of Elmwood House sitting atop a hill. Trees surrounding it are bare, and snow covers the ground. The gates to the park are closed. In the lower right, 'Elmwood Park in Winter, Roanoke VA' is written in block letters framed by a black square. The postcard is printed by the Shelor-Woltz Pty., Co. out of Salem VA.

3. Roanoke City Public Library, Circa 1955 - Roanoke City Public Library is a one-story building on right and two stoires on the left. At bottom is a street and sidewalk. Three cars are parked at parking meters. Grass lines the sidewalk and in front of the building. Four sets of double windows line the front of the building and three on the right side. Double glass door entry with window above. Second story contains eight sets of double windows and lettering spelling out "Roanoke Public Library" in white. On left side of first floor is row of large windows. There is a bare tree in front of the building and the branches of another tree come into the photo from the right. Automobiles appear to be mid-fifties models. Stamp on back of photograph reads "Dec 9 1952."

4. Roanoke Diamond Jubilee Celebration, 1957 - A photograph taken during the Diamond Jubilee Parade in Roanoke, Virginia in 1957 showing a U. S. Army float carrying soldiers wearing Army uniforms throughout the ages. The sign on the float reads "Partners in Progress - Roanoke & U.S. Army". The view is looking north on South Jefferson Street, toward Franklin Road. The Hotel Patrick Henry is partially visible on the left side, with the trees lining the side of Jefferson Street near the main public library and Elmwood Park on the right side.
