Henriette Fallwell was a WW I war bride from France. She was a French teacher at Jefferson High School. Second and third year French students were invited to spend the night at her cabin on Creek Road in Catawba for Friday night dinner and Saturday breakfast. She cooked French food and only French was spoken. She lost her son Andre in WW II and thereafter always wore a black armband in mourning.
