2. 1930s Red Wine Silk Gown - Red wine silk satin gown with long sleeves, a cowl neck, pointed train, and matching buttons up the cuffs and back. Cut on the bias, the silhouette drapes sleekly against the body with no waist seam in front but a large V seam in back running from the shoulders down to the waist. It goes with a matching red wine velvet belted coat (1964.35.10.1).

3. 1940s Silk Satin Floral Gown - Hand-sewn black and floral printed silk satin gown (1964.35.9.1a). It has a flowing trumpeted skirt with a short over-skirt attatched at the side seams in front, short balloon dolman sleeves that taper, shoulder pads, a V neck, and a matching belt (1964.35.9.1b). The dress closes at the right proper side and in front at the hip with a run of snap closures. It is paired with a black satin pillbox hat trimmed with white and light pink flowers (1964.35.9.2).

4. Black and Gold Lame Lace Evening Gown - Black stain mid-length dress with black lace and gold lame over satin. Two graduated overskirts of black and gold lame lace. The overskirt in back has tails of black and gold lame. Dress is sleeveless with V-neck. Blacke moire ribbon at waist. Dress also has a shoulder train of black and lame lace.

5. Miss America Pageant 1961 - Black & white panoramic photograph of the Miss America 1961 pageant. Several women stand on the catwalk, others lined up on the stage. Each girl wears a puffed tulle skirt dress with long white elbow length gloves. Each holds bouquets of trailing flowers. Photograph is taken in Atlantic City, New Jersey. On the stage, far above the women, is a white carriage, with several men in white tuxedos spaced down the stairs that lead up to the carriage. The stands surrounding the catwalk on the floor of the auditorium are packed, as are the stands in the stadium. Pageant took place from September 5 - 10, 1960, and resulted in Miss Michigan - Nancy Ann Fleming - winning the pageant.
