Description |
A black and white photograph of the front facade of the Vinton Weaving Mill on Virginia Ave. in Vinton, Virginia. The plant was constructed by the Roanoke Weaving Company in 1936 on a thirty acre tract on Tinker Creek. For decades the mill produced textile fabrics. Precision Fabrics Group, the current owner, now utilizes its highly skilled work force to produce continuous filament fabrics incorporated into a multitude of products including military uniforms, parachutes, and life vests. It was at one time a Burlington Industries plant. Most information in this description is based on an article in the June 4, 2012 issue of The Vinton Messenger. |
