This is a black and white photograph from the collection of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce. It depicts members of Old Virginia Lodge 377 - L. A. to B. R. T. (Ladies Auxiliary to Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen). The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen merged with three other railroad labor unions to form the United Transportation Union in 1969. There are three rows of ladies, all wearing identical long white or pastel chiffon dresses, each with a flower corsage on her left shoulder. The photograph was taken at Hotel Roanoke on August 20,1948. |
