A black and white aerial photograph of the City of Roanoke, Virginia centered over the downtown area. The Patrick Henry Hotel is a prominent landmark in the foreground with Tinker Mountain in the background. Jefferson Street which is the central traffic artery in the photograph runs from south to north intersected by the Norfolk & Western Railway running from west to east. At the time the photograph was taken the Hunter Viaduct carried traffic from Williamson Road onto Jefferson Street in the downtown area. It has since been razed. |
