Black & white photograph of the interior of a bedroom of Fralin House at 903 S. Jefferson St. A quilted fourposter bed (with chunky hexagonal posts) sits on an opposite wall from a small grated fireplace. A washstand sits to the right of the fireplace and a highboy to the left. On the reverse, someone has written in blue ink: This furniture in D.W.F. room 903 So. Jefferson D.W.F. born in this bed 1852 - Sept 26th - mahogany furniture [illegible] and wash stand have white or (grey?) marble tops. Cover on bed is dated 1843 and pieces were made by members of Flickwir family and cousins. |
