Mary Baldwin College was established in 1842 as Augusta Female Seminary. It is a private, independent 4-year liberal arts women's college in Staunton, Virginia. Mary Baldwin became principal in 1863 and was renamed Mary Baldwin Junior College in 1916. The name was changed to Mary Baldwin College when it became a 4-year college in 1923. It is related to the Presbyterian Church. The administration building at Mary Baldwin College was erected in 1842. The Chapel, formerly the First Presbyterian Church, was where Woodrow Wilson was baptized. |
