A collapsed roof on the livery stable located at the NW corner of Henry (1st) street and Luck Avenue. Collapse was due to the heavy snowfall of 1890. The picture is looking North on Henry Street with the Bridgewater Carriage Company (brick building) seen at the NW corner of Henry Street and Church Avenue, one block north of the camera. Bridgewater Carriage later moved to the Norwich area of Roanoke. The identity of the stable could not be determined from the City Directory of 1890. |
