Description |
Wooden cane from New York World's Fair, 1939. Cane folds into a stool. Has brass rings holding the seat to the shaft. The underside of the seat has the manufacturer's name incised, and a label of ownership. "KAN-O-SEAT / Pat'd. May 21, 1935 / Stafford-Johnson Seating Corp. / Ionia, Mich." The pre-printed owner's label is filled in by hand: "Mrs. T. W. Nash / 330 Auburn Ave. / Roanoke, Virginia." Mr. Sam Guerrant probably acquired the cane from Roy Nash.
