Two ink blotters issued by the National Exchange Bank of Roanoke, Virginia, for Christmas 1905. Circa 1905, American. The blotters have laminated covers with a picture of the bank in black and white surrounded by a gold frame. Beneath this is a holly branch with green leaves and red berries. The following is printed on the blotters: "The National Exchange Bank, ROANOKE, VA., EXTENDS THE SEASONS GREETINGS TO: Mrs. C. E. Mayhew (handwritten on the blotter)." The second blotter has the same message, to "Mrs. Carrie M. Mayhew". |
