Two blue and white bathtub tiles, English. The tiles were taken from the J. Tyler Meadows house previously located at 923 Orchard Hill Road, Roanoke, Virginia. City Directories for Roanoke indicate the house was built about 1916 and that the Meadows family lived there in 1917. The house has been torn down. The tiles were the original lining of a cast iron bathtub. The tile setters came from England to install the tiles. The design on the tiles shows vines, leaves and symbols. |
