Wooden box that held bars of soap from early 1900's, 20th century, American. The box has a metal latch. Drawn inside the lid is a stylized rectangular ribbon design featuring an outdoor scene with a spider's web, flowers, a hummingbird and a heron. Within this rectangular setting, the following is printed: "6 CAKES, USEFUL TOILET SOAP, MANUFACTURED BY CHARLES S. HIGGINS, 91 WORTH STREET, NEW YORK." |
