Description |
Yellow satin blown glass vase with painted white flower and leaves on one side. John Trout (1813-1882), original owner of the vase, was the first mayor of Big Lick and served from 1874-1876. His home was on the current site of the Ponce de Leon Hotel. He was founder and elder of the Lutheran Church in Big Lick, and his son, Henry Trout, was the president of the First National Bank in downtown Roanoke. |
