  4. World War I pins - I Have a Chicken In France pin. Blue background with white print, a red chicken, and a red white and blue shield. These pins were handed out to people who made donations of 10-25 cents to help "rechickenize" France. On the reverse says that it was manufactured by: The Whitehead & Hoag CO. Buttons, Badges, Novelties, and Signs. Newark N.J. Bottom edge in small white print says: American Committee For Devestated France, 16 E. 39th ST. N.Y.

  5. World War II Cadet Nurse Uniform, 1945 - Worn by cadet nurses that were out of the hospitals, and this particular one was from a lewis and Gale cadet. The Uniform is a drak gray cotton with silver buttons with the staff of Asclepius on each button. There are two are two bottons on the collar that also have the Staff of Asclepius on them and aswell on a dark grey Overseas Garrison cap. The shoulders have red patches on teh tops and a red patch on the right arm that has a white cross on it. Uniform also includes a dark gray pencil skirt, and matching gray bag on the side of the hip.

  10. Yellow and Blue Patterned Dress - Fit and flair cotton princess seam dress. Cotton is printed in turqouise and bright yellow patterns that run across the entirety of fabric. Just below the hips, the skirt is box pleated from the tucks created from the princess seams of the bodice. Light blue nylon zipper runs up the back of the dress. Sleeves are decorated with several tucks at the shoulder. Neckline is decorated with a small Peter Pan collar. Dress is home sewen, and is unlined.

  11. Yellow glass vase - Yellow satin blown glass vase with painted white flower and leaves on one side. John Trout (1813-1882), original owner of the vase, was the first mayor of Big Lick and served from 1874-1876. His home was on the current site of the Ponce de Leon Hotel. He was founder and elder of the Lutheran Church in Big Lick, and his son, Henry Trout, was the president of the First National Bank in downtown Roanoke.

  12. Young boy's pantaloons - Young boy's pantaloons handmade from a tightly woven cotton. Vertical button holes along front and back of waistband to attach pants to shirt. Slits in sides for easy removal, as well as a opening in the front of the pantaloons, approximately 4.5 inches down from the waistband. Legs have a ribbed cotton extension with eyelet decoration at bottom. On back of waistband, someone has written in fading ink " ? [Art?] Alexander Lacy."

Inside tag says Yves Saint Laurent Paris-New York. The lining of the hst in white text reads La Vienne imported body and Made in Austria.

  17. gold dress with green lace and purple sheer embellishment - This is a one piece dress, with a lace cover on the torso. the torso is covered up to the breasts with the lace, and then it transitions to the material of the majority of the dress. it has a purple belt that is made of sheer fabric. The skirt is asymetrical. the lace cover features beading and embroidery resembling leaves. the sleeves are 3quarters length and are made of the same material as the lace cover.

  18. peach and lace satin nightgown - Peach silk satin nightgown with alencon lace cutout design on top, wide lace trim at the skirt hem and wide shoulder straps that extend into a lower back. It is cut on the bias but the weight of the fabric maintains a boxier shape.

The shape is loose and straight with no waistline seam and it closes on the side with hook and eyes and snaps. From fall 1936, worn by L. M. Funkhouser.
