Note pertaining to 1999.136.1 - an embroidered linen fragment attributed to Ann 'Nancy' Christian Fleming, wife of Col. William Fleming. The note reads: The center of this piece came from a sheets [sic] of Mrs. Col. Fleming who was Mrs Anne Christain of Agusuta County daughter of Col. Wm. Christian [sic]. Several of Mrs. Flemings items ame to Ky after the R. War who left many [illeg] in Ky. The sheets came through Mrs Fleming's daughter Anne who married Rev. Geo. A. Baxter, my grandfather. Mrs. M. B. Spotts adopted mother of Mrs. H. H Franklin |
